Apply blusher higher than normal, about an inch under your eye.
Then extend it out over your cheeks. It pulls everything up and gives you a youthful bloom.
TRY: L’Oreal True Match Blush in True Rose, £7.69 (superdrug.com)

This works best with blusher sticks, especially those with a tiny touch of sparkle.
Steer clear of bright pinks or strong reds and try soft, muted bronze shades. Apply directly to your eyelids using the tip of your finger — but use sparingly.
TRY: Nars The Multiple         in St Barts, £29 (narscosmetics.co.uk)
If the shade is right, use blusher to highlight your browbones, cheekbones and bring a subtle sheen to your skin. Apply using an eyeshadow brush to your brows and blusher brush to the tops of your cheeks and forehead.
TRY: Diorblush Glowing Color Powder Blush in Paradise Pink, £28 (boots.com).

TRY: Pixi Cheek Gel in Natural, £12.50 (asos.com)

This trick cuts down on space in your make-up bag.
Apply carefully to your cheeks, avoiding smudges and pat the residue on to your lips.
TRY: Benefit                      Cha Cha Tint, £24.50, (benefitcosmetics.co.uk)
Pick a coppery tone. For a natural look, apply to forehead, cheeks, across the bridge of your nose and sweep across your neck and décolleté.
